    I give you $700.
    You help me get 2.

Currently the lowest i've seen is $385.

If you can get even lower then $350 i take 3 from you.

4 % GST, so it will amount to 14 SGD for 350SGD.
Total is 364SGD withe GST, for the 350SGD offer u get.

Why not u just try and equote from CP or MSCOLOR?
Then u have a basic idea on what the prices will be.
Then bargain until the lowest u can?

Went ard SLS and Peninsula checking out the A40 prices today.

Cheapest at SLS is at Alan Photo $395.
Next cheapest is ard $410 for quite a few shops.

    Peninsula still cheapest.
One shop at Peninsula Plaza offered $370.

Another at Peninsula SC offered the lowest, I forgot how much.... I think it was bet $320-$350. Fogot the name as well. It's the first floor, inside the SC (there r only 2 inside).

Think I will go back there very soon to buy it.

    inside Peninsular SC?...
    yes, it's only 2 inside...

if i come from Peninsular Plaza...and entering the door...
is it left(the chinese shop) or right( i guess the boss is indian)?...

    can get $320?...

Mad prices ! Snap one up if it is less than $370. SOmetimes, searching weeks for the cheapest buy will lead to incurring transport cost, and lotsa brain churning. Some shops sell cheap cameras but bite you back with pricey addons , like CF card and Batts. I got mine 6 mths back for $495. Sandisk CF 64mb for $50. But I got ketok by the batts.

Both AP and CP doesn't have A40 anymore. My colleague called in and enquired yesterday but both shops say the model has discontinued - prob anticipating the release of A70? Enquired another shop in orchard area - $410.. *ouch* ..

Anyway, if you can get hold of one at $350, better grab it ASAP!

If you can wait, then wait for the A60/A70. First look looks pretty cool.

    any ideas?>.

I passed by Alan Photo today. They said A40 no stock, gonna be discontinued and replaced by A60 and A70.
It should be more difficult to find good prices for A40, since all those having good prices have sold out their A40s.

Been to the canon website. They have suggested retail prices - 349 for A60, and 449 for A70. But these are in US$. After conversion should be abt S$600-700. But then again, they might still be cheaper than directly converting from US$ to S$.

I'm not too sure about the functions compared though. Coz I'm a newbie to all these...heck I've yet to get one myself, prob only getting one in May/June. There are a few improved functions to A60 and A70, how much better, I'm not too sure.

Looking at the situation, I would probably get the A60/A70 if the price range offered is abt S$500 - 500+. Anything above 600, I think I would be better off looking for an A40. If I were to pay so much more for juz a few little improvements, I'd rather get A40, which is much cheaper.

The only thing that attracts me most is A70's resolution at 3.2mp. Coz I've been checking ard for a 3mp digicam with A40's functions. The price tag is the major factor here.

If you want to compare them, go to dpreview. They've uploaded the specs for the new cams for you to compare side by side.

If I had the money now (coz I dont, so I'm still waiting till April/June), I wait abt 1 mth for the new ones, then if A40 is still the choice, it'll def depreciate alot more. Either way, wait for 1 more mth, I think.
