    the background causes a chaotic feel. try a more close up shot.

    Hmm. Good point. The DOF is too deep.

    Then again, this was shot from rather extreme range.

    A tighter crop.. and maybe a more interesting view point? I always found eye-level shots of stone statues a little boring.

    But of course, since you mentioned the range, it might not have been possible to offer a different perspective of the statue.

    Yeah, it was from about 50 meters out. I'll try to get a better perspective if i visit there again.
