Im looking into 19-20 inches LCD display but too many brands and choices out there. Budget is ard 500.

And regarding calibrator, do I really need to get one ? Whats the price like ?

Buy your monitor. If you think that the screen colors isnt displaying correctly after fiddling with it, go buy a display calibrator. The GretagMacbeth Eye-One Display2 is a good choice; the software is very user-friendly. The other choices are the ColorVision Spyder2express or suite or PRO. You can forget about the Huey. Check with Cathay for up-to-date prices.

Is the ColorVision Spyder II Express good enuf ? Do i really need the RGB calibration that only spyder2 suite and pro has ? What is that for ?

The RGB Calibration is for making sure your prints come out just like what you see on your display. This is software-based PrintFIX Plus which is sufficient for normal printing of photos. If you dont need it, just go for the Express version. The Spyder2 software for all the 3 versions are the same.
