actually the reason i choose TH is because i love TH myself.
seiko though the sporty ones look good, but i would prefer interchangeble straps.
AFAIK, both the tags i've quoted has interchangeble straps.

i went to see the watch just now at lunch.
#1 looks real good.whenever i see it, i have the tay ping hui imgae in my mind.

    BUT

guess what?it's NOT multicoated!i was surprised.for such a expensive watch, it isnt multi coated.

    but #2 is.

Mine is the Kirium Chronograph (Automatic),

I prefer it to the Kirium F1. But doubt much shops have it now as it is discontinued.

BTW... you can get 20 - 25% discount for Tags by bargaining well enough at Hour Glass, Sincere etc.

I dont jump on all your thread on purpose, I swear...

As you say the Kirium has a lot of functions embedded in its digital "background", quite hightech and classy (wanted to buy at a certain point in time but felt in love with the Carrera (especially the calibre 360))

The aquaracer looks too "basic" chronograph to me and not very classy, moreover I dont like the color...

take a look at multicoated watches, they definitely look better than non coated ones.

yes, i know automatic has more 'value' than batt powered.
but like some of you mentioned, price is definitely higher.
    i like breitling.but it easily cost 7k.
for a gift to a guy, i find it a little high.
(not to mention my feelings aint reciprocated )

i like tag because it's simple, fashionable, and it relates to very sporty people.

watches like frank muller, longines, IWC, IMHO is more suitable for watch collectors.

this friend of mine is a very down to earth and humble person. the current watch he is wearing is a G shock which dates back to 1990s.
therefore, i tot of getting him a dress watch, or something which is more 'formal', yet elegant.
i've seen tay ping hui wearing #1 aquagraph and it amazingly stands out.he really brings the watch image out well.
my friend's built is about the same as ping hui.so i tot it should look as good.

and there's only ONE left at taka branch.and i heard aquagraph is discontinued.
i have to make my decision fast.
Speaking of watches, there are many speculatation about the resale value of TAG . Yes .. very low resale vcale for them.
You can try Wisma for TAG shop. there is another shop there.. Or check out Cortina at Raffles place Or the one at Mellium (spelling error) for their collection.
Frankly, I dun really like TAG for the reason that , this brand is too common on the ground and further more. Manty people havethis conception that TAG is a very Good watch to it value .Sad to say that I have to Totally Disagree.. It is overprice.

If the Aquaracer, that you are going to get. Go for it ..
Personally, I own a Seiko Diver Ti watch and a Hamliton Chrono

All the best to your purchase

No offence to bvlgary and Tag, technically they have nver been in the line of watch making. Coming from a Jewellery maker. It din strike me that They do not design their watch movements and design.

Between the two, I'd go for the Aquagraph.

The button pushers of the aquagraph can be used underwater, and not many dive watches can claim this feat. If you're looking for a rugged watch, then the aquagraph should do it. It has the heft and masculine design lines. I was considering this watch sometime back but didn't go for it because I find Tags to be too common a brand + the fact that the face dial is a bit small. There are some good Tags around especially those based on inhouse movement, however the Aquagraph uses some generic ETA movement with a chronograph module stacked on top. I guess this is of no concern if your friend is no serious horologer.

Your other choice is a quartz movement. Although it will beat the Aquagraph hands down in terms of timekeeping accuracy, but well... it's a quartz. I guess that's just me.

    Happy watch selecting.
