Default Stairway to bird heaven or contemplation

This little guy perched right in front of me, I loved this pose
Initially called it contemplation, the stairway was suggested by a friend

Pardon my critic, Photo is bad. I cant see anything in focus and shooting bird from the back is a no no. Unless you convert it to sholuite (dont think i got the spelling right) den it may look good.

Just my 2 cents, please dont flame me.

    Technically:

    Slightly over sharpened IMHO
    Red fringing
Colour Balance doesn't work for me. Too redish. Doesn't look like the sunset red.

    Creatively:

I like your caption and also the space. IMHO, I would prefer not to have a black border on the lower and the right hand side of the picture.

    Keep shooting!

    DeSwitch:

    Thanks for your frank opinion
This was a rather dull looking tiny bird, out of a series of about 10 shots I got of him
This was the best focused, to my eyes everything does seem in focus
I felt this was the most intresting piece

As far as no no's go I dont subscribe to that point of view, creative freedom is primary IMO
    Silhouette is spelled so

    Nerd:

Thanks glad you like the compsition & title

Technical points noted & agreed to
I had played around with the levels & introduced more purple fringing
I made the frame, while in fit to page view, shall make it smaller & less obtrusive

wonder y the L shap border...

anyway, i think a crop off the top would make it look better. too much emptiness and distraction, and the underexpose background is no good.

It would have been better if the bird had it's head to the side, and the sunlight was coming from the back to make it a nice silhouette. Over-sharpened too.

i had to squint my eyes looking at the photo.

subjects are underexposed and out of focused with post process sharpening.

    DCA

1 The L frame has to go, I agree
2 You are right about the space too, I wouldnt miss two inches off the top

WIll give it a retry, thanks for the tips

    Rashkae

A sillhouette would indeed have been nicer

    Pokiemon

I may have over sharpened & done too much with the levelling
    Will retry the PP

color not nice, framing bad, as in the picture have a tilting effect since the bird is not straight. the leaves is cropped on the sides, and the triangle effect is gone.

    Noted
    You are right
I will just take out some space from the top of the first edit & the L shaped frame
