hello,
will be getting this lens soon. as this would be my first major lens purchase, rather uptight about it as i want to get a good copy. for those who own this lens, maybe you can share what defects i should be looking out (concerning this lens in particular) for as well as what were your experience in testing? even better still teach me how to test! really appreciate the community here being so helpful so far! thanks! i have this lens. i think diffraction is something to be concerned about only if you print very large or you like to pixel peep. based on technical data, diffraction sets in abt f/8. but i have shot at f/11 f/13 f/16 with this lens beofre and printed super 8R with no problems.
i have not shot at f/22 though. but it's a great lens to get! f/2.8 usable, but sharpens A LOT at f/4. ![]() |

Agreed.
I have this lens. Indoor shot normally at f4 and outdoor at f/4-f11. Hardly go beyond f/11. ![]() |

don think you can really notice any different when comparing f8 and f16(maybe just a tiny bit of difference when comparing side by side)

That's the reason why I don't like to buy from them also... the lenses kenna too many hands (fingerprints, wipes.. etc). MScolor is pretty alright as well in this aspect as well, but don't push your luck too far to test every single piece they have. |

YOu seems confused about the terminology. Aperture rings control the aperture size and will not affect the focusing. Thats what the focusing ring is for.
