By the way, mind if you can tell me what's the price of the 67mm & 77mm DHG CPL in Taiwan ? Thanks again
I bought a 77mm DHG CPL about a week ago for NT$2,000 (about S$95). I didn't really ask from shop to shop but reckon it is a fair price here. I don't know the price for the 67mm one and will need to ask.

By the way, you can buy online and the price inclusive of delivery to Singapore (from Hongkong) is US$58 which is even cheaper than the price I paid. See this link: http://stores.ebay.com/Gadget-Infini...dZ2QQtZkmQQpZ2

All Marumi filters are made in Japan. The DHG (digital high grade) series is specially designed for use in digital cameras. Besides the DHG series, Marumi of course also manufactures other ranges. See this link for more info on the DHG series: http://www.marumi-international.com/...eb_en_DHG.html

care to share how it compares with the other slim CPL?
Im considering of getting one for my 12-24, but currently all the other brand - B+W, MRC + Hoya Pro1 are all close to $200.

I don expect the marumi to be as thin as those, just like to know how it compares with those slim filters.

    thanks

but for $100 for a slim one,its quite good what.

i have the kenko slim UV, and i think its abt 1mm thicker than the B+W one. not much more.

thats why i wish someone would do a simple comparison since the site doesn't really state how thin the DHG filter are and they didn't mention it is the slim type where as B+W/hoya did name their slim filter "slim"

I have both the Kenko Pro-1 CPL Wide and the DHG CPL. I don't have my gears with me now but shall take photographs of both filters and post them tonight and you can see for yourself that the DHG one is substantially thinner.

Vignetting is caused by the ring of the filter and the thinner it is, the closer it is to the front lens, it is less likely that vignetting will occur. I will post photographs of both the Marumi DHG and Kenko Pro-1 (Hoya clone) and you can see the Marumi DHG is substantially thinner. That is why I have mentioned in earlier posting that I have yet to see a thinner filter.

may i ask as a start up and experimenting, is it worth to get a tokina filter? I mean being realistic in terms of price and quality. there's no such thing as cheap and good. but what abt something cheap and essential? Is Tokina one of them?
