Default Sigma 18-200 vs Tamron 18-200

Hi all,

need your advice. Is the Sigma or Tamron a better lens for this 18-200 range? I'm using a EOS 400D.

the sigma. ive always considered the colour and contrast produced by sigma to be miles ahead of tamron. ive used the 18-200 sigma myself before when it was first released. soft at 200mm, but certainly usable. colour was good.

id recommend the 18-125 sigma tho. i just bought 2 copies of the 18-125mm for my friends and managed to test them in the process. sharp in the centre wide open at all focal lengths. sharp corner to corner at f/8 18mm, f/11 at 125mm. even at f/5.6 corners are decently sharp already at all focal lengths. colour and contrast too were excellent. in fact i like it so much that im thinking of getting a copy for myself for use during holidays

Did a search on the internet. Got a fair bit of feedbacks that Sigma lens tends to jam
at the widest aperture and required to send back to workshop.
I'm comparing between Sigma and Tamron. But now waiting for Tamron 18-250mm to be
available in SG.
