Any 12-24, or any other tokina users for that matter, who have bad comments? I seem to hear a lot more complaints about Sigma, then Tamron. I have seldom heard complaints about Tokina.

Good build for Tokina's 12-24. Although I use Canon's 10-22 for the ultra wide, I would recommend the 12-24 to anyone who wants to get an ultra wide for it's price.

I have heard feedback that some older lenses have this glare effect when wide open (like f/2.8). My suspicion is that the coatings on these older lenses are not optimised for digital.
So far the newer lenses seems not to have this problem. BC Last edited by Scaglietti; 11th January 2007 at 04:51 PM. |

you don have to send it for servicing if it is condensation fogging... just leave it outside to clear out, afterall it is just water.
but if the fogging you talking about is lens fog, the only thing you can do is send in and ask for glass element cleaning/replacing or better still get a new lens. |

Condensation: if it hasn't cleared by now something is wrong. It could also mean it isn't condensation and it is... Lens fogging: Go down to TCW and ask them to have a look and confirm that it is lens fogging. I'm sure they'll advise as to how to proceed. OR, BBB and get a new lens. ![]() |
