Default Newbie New Year 2007 fireworks

Hi all,
here are some of my very first time taking fireworks....

ALOT OF SMOKE!!!!

I think it's probably taken from Riverwalk Apartments opposite Boat Quay.

did you use a tripod? I tried taking some pictues with a F31fd without a tripod and it's an diasaster....

is there anyway to take a clear sharp picture without a tripod?

im not gd with shooting fireworks but i think your pics have a crop that's too tight.. seems that alot of the shots have fireworks extending beyond your border. but your location is good. share with me?

I think that's the place too. Cos the clock towel is captured in the photo too. Anyway, nice angle & nice pics too. Thks for sharing here dude in the year 2007! Cheers to all!

problem with my window is that there's this stupid cement block that cuts the RIGHT side off!



else i'd be able to catch the right side of fireworks

almost all of my fireworks pictures turned out this way as well.... here's some of mine...









only this is taken with an embarrassing mini tripod...


it doesn't seems to make much sense to buy a tripod for a point and shoot camera..hahaa..

Why not? Tripod can help to take night shots. Many PNS has Tv mode, maybe not bulb mode. Tv mode or 'night' mode is good enough in many cases. Tripod helps when there's no wall/ledge/bag to put your PNS camera onto.

PNS would be tricky for Fireworks as there'll usually no bulb mode where you can control the shutter release. There's other night shoot opportunities besides Fireworks.

no worries and no, i'm also not hardup for fireworks...

thats my parents place and i will not bring anybody to their house
