take your time to share. i'm sure you have more.

by the way, agree with littlejt, #2 can have a change of WB to correct the blue cast. noticed that the trees and the rocks have the same cast.

unless it is your intention to show the lighting of an early morning, or a cloudy post-sunset.

Actually, there are more pics in my gallery. I don't wanna post so many here. So feel free to browse . I still have some pics on Salamanca market. Will post them in this thread when I finished post processing.

For #2, it was taken during sunset, around 8 pm. As for the blue cast, it was unintentional. Should a warm WB be more appropriate?

As for littlejt's request for more pics to show more of cradle mountain, I am afraid I don't have more. I was with my wife and 2 young girls. I would love to trek for get a more elevated view. I had to do with where I was.

I stayed at the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Village. If you are going there, I suggest you stock up on food before reaching there. You can do simple cooking (eg. frozen pizzas) in the cabin. There are food available, but it is expensive.

yes, should stock up on food first before going there. I was there a couple of years back and i trekked the entire circumference of the lake! It was tiring but definitely worth it....went there during winter and it was snowing. nice....

by the way, did you do the ghost tour at port arthur? that place gives me the creeps...

8pm for sunset? is it already after the golden ray had disappeared? then maybe the picture really shows what you have seen with a correct WB and a blue cast.

i wouldn't say a warm WB would be appropriate. But most people would prefer or expect a sunset to be warm, whereas the waterfall to be of a daylight hue with different colors, notably correct green of the vegetations, correct brown/grey of the soil and rocks and correct white (maybe with a tinge of the casted color) of the water.

If you have a setting sun in your picture, and a blue cast, then i would say it is inappropriate. But since there isn't, it is up to your interpretation and preference.

Nice pics at your gallery. Makes me really miss Tasmania... Must go back one day.

Since there seems to be interest in seeing more of Tasmanian images, I have a travelogue/gallery of my 2001 honeymoon trip in Tasmania if anyone's interested?

Er, just realised it and don't intend to hijack Madmax's thread, but hope you don't mind. My travelogue is at http://www.eclectyx.com/travel/tasmania/ (Never got round to finish writing the last chapter, but all the pics are there).

Thanks! Wrote the travelogue after coming back, mainly to remember the trip. But took a while, and eventually ran out of time as work and other commitments crowded in. Maybe one day, I'll get back in and write... but doubt I'll remember the details.

Anyway, Tassie is a place of endless photographic opportunities, if you ever have the chance to go... go! And bring all the camera kit you can carry!
