I am curious, about the "timeline" this image was captured. If this is from the Vietnam war, the subject's age is in question. Or is she the 2nd or 3rd generation offspring from the survivor of the slaughtering? She has drawn something after hearing from mom/grandma about the Vietnam war? I cannot assume or speculate. Maybe the photographer can help unravel the mystery here? Thank you. |

oops i think it was my bad here! what i meant was her entire generation of forefathers & mothers were murdered during e vietnam war..i think she's the 3rd generation..she's ard 12 yrs old IIRC!
e drawing represents how much she misses her home & family as she's the sole survivor...& she's 1 of the many kids in cambodia who have no grandparents too. e vietnam war still takes its toll today on many people in cambodia...as landmines are still spread out throughout the country. thru an interview i learnt that both her parents were maimed & killed while farming on a field...so i guess i could relate the incident to the "Vietnam War" as the landmines belonged to the Americans. pardon my lack of detail |
