7506 is good, but if you do a lot of event shoots in noisy environment, I would strongly recommend the in-ear Shure E2c or E3c series.
I find that the isolation for 7506 isn't wonderful for a shoot in noisy environment. my 2 cents

Senheisser PCX250 with noise cancelling function is light good and fantastic. Go to SLS lvl3 at the audio shop infront of escalator.

Noise cancelling headphone will never be good enough for accurate audio monitoring.
If you want to listen to your recording just to make sure got sound, then it's okay, but never for critical listening/monitoring.

I've got the V6, the older version of the 7506. Even though they're supposed to be circumaural , they don't fully cover your ears. The akg 271s is designed for more isolation, but it gets really hot.

That's why i am starting to find the in-ears very effective when I'm doing cam op.

The 7506's isolation from external sound is no good, but its loud enough for live use...but sound will leak out to outside from your headphones too, if you push up your levels.
The 7509 is a bigger more comfortable and much more powerful set, worth the money if you can afford. AKGs are extremely extremely accurate studio units, it is for studio recordings, indoor monitorings and precise EQing. The frequency response for most AKGs are almost a flat line, but AKGs not very suitable for outdoor use, the construction and design will inhibit you as it is difficult to squeeze into a cramped bag. |
