Thought I'd share some images I took while wading throgh the floodwaters to get to the bus-stop. Pictures taken on the move using F11 and umbrella (foldable).

It all over the TV news. More flooding coming due to high tides factor.

Something wrong with SG much vaunted flood control?
Car drivers should avoid these areas! Last time I hero and water got into my gearbox. Gears cannot engage.

Too much water in Macritchie reservoir already.
They opened the floodgates, that's why tt area quite bad. . |

mind boggling... control flood by opening the floodgates?? And now we hv more water, can we ask the govt for a cheaper water rate? supply & demand... economics 101... hahaha..

The water taxi part was quite humorous... though the company would be cursing at the claims...

Eh... isn't that's how floodgates are supposed to work? You open floodgates so that water won't flood a certain place.

They didnt open the floodgates, cos that will cause even worse flooding. Basically, there is so much water in the reservoir that it cant be contained and it simply overflowed.
The system simply isnt designed to handle so much water... if you read the papers, you are talking about a whole month of rainfall coming down in a single day. And thankfully we dont get this too often.
