The Leica Man
In 1966, a man called Miroslav Brachal bought his first Leica M3 used after months of using a Moskva. A Russian emigre, he left for Switzerland in 1954. The size of a medium format machine wasn't for him. He got this Leica M3 and a Leitz Elmar 50mm lens. It was unique - it could retract itself, keeping things small and handy. He loved it a lot. It operated very well, and had that unique sound everytime he tripped the shutter. He shot American films like Kodachrome - because it was a very special slide film. He shot probably 2000 shots on that camera, it was getting used daily, and he once said it to be "the other wife, after Annakova".
But he threw it away later. In downtown Lausanne, and it was never to be seen again.
