Default MS Color Canon Christmas Carnival

Hey people, I happen to stumble across MS Color website a minute ago while looking for a additional dry box and there is a big ad stating that there will be a Canon Christmas Carnival held at AMK. There will be special bundle for all Canon products To those who have been waiting to buy a digital camera/slr this will be the best time to buy. The carnival will be held from 15-17 Dec from 11-9pm. If I never see wrongly, there would be snow!! So take your chance to go take some pictures too! I will be there for sure as I stay nearby.

http://www.mscolor.com.sg/

Anyway I would like to wish all CSers a early Merry Christmas and a Happy New year. Happy Shooting!

I might just swing by on Friday evening.
10D was a bit cranky lately but I expected to be ok if I take it down to Harbourfront for some servicing.
Could just accidently buy a dry cab. this weekend. More space needed to justify future acquisitions.

Sure approve one. MOF changing car, my expenses compared to her Toyota is peanuts.
Anyway, Triton wants to buy a batt grip (BG-E3) for his 350D. Got a colleague who came back from HK and reported that the price there was about S$185. He went to MS and they quote S$189 - wonder why so ex?
Thought it was much cheaper.

I got an equote for S3, was lower than the published price for the promo, but the promo has additional items (which I don't really need). Wondering if I should still go down.

i also went there today... but the deals there, are they even considered to be deals ??????? wasted my 5mins to detour to that area..

for example, ms color guoted me $720 for the S3 IS + 1gb card + charger and batts.

At the so called "canon carnival", its $799 for S3IS + 1gb + 1gb + charger and batts and 1 camera case(its not even a dry box) + 1 cheap card reader. Is that even a deal?

Not to mention, the 400d and 30d prices are "
u just take a 400d kit or 30d kit price, then u add the price of gretag mcbeth + a plastic drybox + 2gb cf card + a plastic tripod + EF lens book + normal filter, thats the so called "carnival price"

Ya if u buy their 400d or 30d kit sets, u can buy their 55-200mm lens at $399.... again nothing spectacular and nothing new

I really wonder why is there a need to put up a carnival in the first place. Waste their booth fees and the hassle of setting up the venure.

and lastly, there is no mention/offers on any lens/accessories/flash in their brochure. alrite there is canon printer + printing paper thats all!

Hi,
I personally think that you are being overly critical here. I have accidently seen the cost price of all Canon camera/DSLR once at SLS as I work as an MP3 promoter (I am a student btw) . Honestly the shop earn about $5-$10 dollar per camera sold. Is it unreasonable for the shop to earn $10 dollar out of you??!! If you think is too much for you, then I think you rather spend your money else where. I was there yesterday and the Canon sales staff is quite nice. I brought my uncle down to buy a 30D and we could play around on the free gift abit as I have 4 tripods at home and I did not need any of those dry box too as I have an electric one at home. Auntie Florence was also very helpful.

Not sure if the price of 400D is that good. I got a quote from TK photo. 400D body only is $1325 with GST and kit set is $1470 with GST with standard accessories. So if you don't want those free gift, you are better off.

Price at MS color include GST?

Good deal? Which one?
