Problem with lens or camera

I'm using a D70 and just got a Nikon 50mm f1.8D lens from another CS user. But when I attached it to the camera, it'd showed "FEE" and can't snap. I supposed tt's an error message.

Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 D and D70.

Why. Works alright with my other lens. Help !!

turn the aperture ring to the biggest f number and lock it
then try again
