Default Question: Shooting

Situation:
indoor near a window, outside nice background, but super bright, hot sun
subject is barely having light....

I know using fill flash will solve this.. but what settings?

i tried...

Program + Fill flash from SB600.. Subject is flatten out with horrible whites

Manual + Fill Flash .. better but subject still under exposure...

?? A? S?
metering? Spot or Matrix?
ISO? should i pump it up?

Thanks

use a spot light on your subject.

or can say you will need strobe lights to fill in your subject as you will shoot at high F-stop like F11-22 to get your outside nice background.
a "powerful" light will help in this situation... flash alone can't do much.

so i should spot metering instead of matrix
then flash the subject?
wont the flash be weak since the camera meter detects alot of lights *outside*
*cuz i am using TTL settings on the flash*

*let me try it out next time

Play with flash compensation.
