My d40 needs Zoom lens! haha. Anybody can suggest a good place to buy one? erm... budget is $300 and below.
After getting the zoom lens, i need a speedlite too. Suggestions? budget below $300 too. |

i heard cant use non af-s type of lens. sb 600 should be compatable.

Hey, you can get the AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6G ...It's below $300.If i'm not wrng, it's abt $250 +/- (correct me if i'm wrng
)...but i'm not sure if it's compatible. I dunno the D40 well Hope that helps! P.S The 70-300mm VR one is gd |

zoom lens, u can try 2nd hand 70-300 Sigma. But I dont think it will AutoFocus with your camera but there is always manual focusing. hehe
sB600 is good. For your budget, might have to get 2nd hand too. new cost about 350-360 |

![]() I can understand that you like to have a better image quality output with DSLR and do you know that once you are equip with a good lens, flash and body, you can focus on practising your skills. Honestly, base on D40, if i were you with bigger budget. setup will be, D40+AF-s 18-200 VR+SB600. This one will last you quite sometime till you change the body and keep using the same lens/flash. Cost saving in the long run right? |

if you intend to get 70-300 of any make other than the new AFS 70-300VR, might as well buy the AFS 55-200...
flash wise just top up abit bit to 340 and get sb600. |
