Does local Nikon warranty works overseas?

Hi guys I tried calling up NSC but think they are not open yet. I need some urgent clarification here. Do you know if a locally purchased Nikon lens with local warranty, does the local warranty works overseas eg. US, Hongkong?

If not wrong it cover first year world wide.

Yes, it should work overseas. Nikon lens comes with 1 year worldwide warranty.

I think he meant local warranty not international warranty. Local warranty applies to that country. I am facing the same problem too. I'm very interested to get the 18-200VR (~S$1200) in Hong Kong but they only have local warranty. Damn!

If it is only local warrantly at SGD1200....

There should be a Nikon Worldwide service Warranty slip when purchase.

I asked but they no have. Only have HK locak warranty. *sigh* If have international warranty, I will buy 2 wor!!!

eh... my usa lens still have that international warranty slip. Why do they not have that?

Ya I heard u must have the Worldwide service warranty slip then the warranty will work in other countries too..
