Smile anyone tried Raynox DCR-250 on AFD 50/1.8

no $$$ to buy a 60/2.8 macro...

considering to bring in the DCR-250 to have some macro experience with my 50/1.8. anyway, i am not a Macro Fan, just like to try for fun.

anyone here tried already? how is it? worth to buy?

I use this combi sometimes. Its good for flower shot, not enough magnification for insects suct as spiders/ants. u can always sell it off if u dont like.

50mmF1.8 + Raynox250, max magnification (yellow cast because lens sitting on a yellow paper)

Tokina 100mm F2.8 max magnification (1:1)

Tokina 100mm F2.8 max magnification (1:1) + Raynox250 = (more than 1:1)

All pics uncropped. Hope it is useful.

dcr-250 or any other close-up filter will perform at it best with a tele lens, with 50 f1.8 one can only take casual close up, and not macro. do consider getting a real macro lens, if you are interested about macro photography.

Yes agree. However, given the size of the raynox 250, it is always in my camera bag. It is very handy for a quick macro if I did not bring out your macro lens.

Nothing beats a delicated macro lens though.

you can say so, but sharpness might not be as good, sharpness of 50mm definitely wins the 18-200.
btw 18-200 filter size is too large for dcr-250
