Hi, may I know how is the performance of the above lens, also known as the d80 kit lens in terms of the image quality it can produced.

From a colleague's shots, I think the lens is quite sharp and has nice bokeh also. I'm quite impressed with the lens.

I thought that was a rather lousy lens. Never did I expect that it is comparable to the d70 kit lens.

Well, one different bit will be that it got a plastic lens mount.

I never had a good impression of the D70 kit lens to start with. I don't know if it's just my copy but my 18-200VR seems to outperform it at all focal lengths.

Possible happen to me the same too.

I ever have a good 10.5mm which is so far the best I ever get and have not encounter a good/sharp one after I sold it off.

The same go for the 12-24mm and 200~400mmf4.

plastic mount u mount too many times becomes no mount left, same logic as filter threads. but for a consumer lens it dosnt matter.

I don't care plastic, or whatsoever. Already fall in love with it. Just that seems no where is selling it, except together with D80.

Please tip me where got stock, and I will fly down immediately.

The final pciture quality and the build IMO are equally important. You can't underestimate the build if you are to use the lens for a long time. Strong build will keep the lens quality consistently good for a longer time. If you plan to use it for a short time then sell it a way, I totally agree with you.
