Default D70 hang!

Hi,

Wondering if anyone out there encountered this problem before.

Was using my D70 connected to a mac powerbook via USB and downloading photos from my CF card in the D70 to iphoto. After a while the program in the mac hang and I had to reboot the mac. After rebooting, the D70 freezes completely. There was not display at all and the power on/off button doesn't work anymore.

Tried taking out battery and doesn't work

Tried the reset button below the camera and doesn't work.

Now this beautiful camera is only a piece of plastic and metal

My question, other than the reset button, any thing else I can do to reset the camera. Otherwise would have to bring in to service center and probably cost $$$. Of course got no more warranty....

Please help!

Charge the battery and put it in again. It should work. IIRC, it happened once to me.

It probably lost its power when you are downloading photo to mac.

Lesson learn: use card reader than your camera to download photo.

Arto.

Hi, all - tried this option and it works! Thanks for your help! Save me a painful trip to NSC....

Also - take the advice. Yes - should fully charge battery before attempting download of files to PC. My card reader for some reason also hang when I was using that to download files. In fact, that was usually my first option.

Glad it helped. I was equally puzzled then because I could have sworn my battery had enough juice. Still, it just mysteriously went flat and after recharging it was back to normal. Never occured again since then.
