A fast lens, a good position and a person infront shouting, are all secondary in a getting a good result in a shoot. Knowing the sports (in this case), and the people in the sports (Big names, regular competitors), helps you better prepare for the shoot.

A fast lens doesn't do anything if you don't know how to utilise it, and in that sunny weather, you don't need a fast lens.

A good position is probably the most important of the three that you've mentioned. But knowing how to make use of a lesser location and still come out with a well composed photograph, is what makes you better.

You don't need people infront of you to tell you who's is coming if you know the line-up well. It's also largely down to experience. The more you cover a particular sporting event, you get more familiar and better with it.

Too many repeated shots, just remind me of myself a few years back.

yup sehsuan.. i was like panning shooting rapidlly... and put all up there to let the other singaporeans in the event to download which one they like the most..

Hi Zeuss, yea, juz got into triathlon scene... this case was international and i do not know any big wigs, and the shirts they wear arent uniformed, so have to based on tag numbers... cycling was so fast i cant catch whois who until 20metres before me... haha

think i shld do more events such as this.. btu i intend to be the participant this time round *fingers cross*
i agree experience do plays a big part, eg i know roughly who is who when i actaully talk to the singaporeans doing the event, not all but more familar few...
