Default Test shot - Sigma 30/1.4 on Nikon D80

Just posting the first shot I took. It's a good lens and well worth a look if you need shallow DOF or low light shooting. My combination comes in handy for traveling so might interest some of you.
Compared with my 35/f2, it has better (more natural looking, quite subjective) bokeh, and faster acquisition of AF. Easier to manually focus because the ring is more damped.

Will post more after I return from a two month journey.

But I heard that Sigma lens give some soft of warm or yellow cast. Not sure about that though.

Yes slightly warmer than 35/f2 if shooting JPEGs. But if shooting RAW then the sharpness is better at f2 and you can adjust the colours to your liking in post processing. So really depends on the user.

This is quite a common phenomenon in cats

Oh, btw, I've got this lens too and really love it.

Since this is a discussion on Sigma lense (primary subject) and Nikon mount (background) this thread will be moved to the Others forum. As I am sure many other mounts will also benefit from this.

Have a good trip icebrooke
