I am wondering if it is possible to get a hood for the 85mm f1.4 that is those NORMAL snap on kind, prefably can reverse mount for easy storage.
The metal screw on hood that came with the lens is too troublesome to mount and takes up too much space in my bag. |

I dont think the 85 f1.4 has the snap-on hood, agree that the screw-on hood is bulky and difficult to mount, so after some times, I dont even use the hood anymore!

The 1.8 has a screw on hood for that lens. and I find it a hassle for storage and removing the lens cap.

The snap-in (HS- series) of lens hoods were made for 52mm threads. Doesn't seem to be any for larger sizes like the 77mm needed in this case. See http://www.geocities.com/rick_housh/...lenshoods.html
Luval, use a 77mm lens cap on the FRONT of the lens HOOD of the 85/1.8. It clips in nicely, and is far easier to put on and take off. I understand it was designed that way. |
