hmm I am using CP-E3 with Powerex 2700mah. so far it's good for me.

you might want to try Quantum if the CP-E3 is not good enough.

Quantum is a very powerful and refreshes faster than CP-E3. definitely recommeded if you have the budget.

Eh.. I think its ur Sanyos that are acting up? The Powerex batts i'm using holds charge A LOT better than my Sanyo 2300s and 2500s. In fact, the set of Powerex batts I have in my cp-e3 has only been charged once and I've had them in there for like dunno how many months and have fired at least a few hundred flash shots without 'em running flat.

Sony batteries are actually made by Sanyo (at least last time, not so sure about the current batch). The Powerex batts are already very good, how to find something that is "much better"? The way you put it is as though Powerex batts CMI or something. Try 'em. You won't regret.

Sorry i think you got me wrong...
I was saying that 8 Bty onli lasted me 2hrs....
When i am covering an event.... easily 2000 shots per event...
so definitely need to change after around 2hrs...
If u ask me how do i tell that the CP-E3 is getting weaker...
I tell by the number of continuous burst ... Example, initially 8 burst continuous then when its weak it will onli drop to 4 in a row... .

i assuming u are using CPE3 with 580EX.
there is a C.Fn 07 on the flash, related to the method of flash recycling. it will drain the ext power source if you choose setting 1.

He flashes 2000 times in 2 hours... sure batt flat one.

Use Quantum loh... but then the one to suffer will be the flash bulb.
