Actually, it is for anyone who has ever owned a pet, be it a cat, parrot, tortise, rabbit etc which you had spent a large part of your life with and love it to bits, in good and bad times.

A pet is a part of the family but sadly a lot of people do not think so.

My oldest cat is only 6+ this year so hopefully I will only be in that girl's position in another decade or so. But I have 5 cats and I love them all. You can imagine my misery then.

A colleague used to have 2 poodles and she cried buckets when they passed on. Now she says she won't have another pet again cos she says she can't handle the heartbreak again.

this clip is a touching narration of the deepest kind of friendship a man can share with a pet (specifically a dog). Mine is nearly 11 years and I dread the day I have to say 'goodbye'... My cousin's dog of 5 years passed away last year and it was heart-wrenching to pass him to the vet for cremation...they are more than a pet, they are our companion and soulmate - they become part of the family. How I wish there is a pet columbarium of somekind in Singapore too..

yes, but b prepared to cry watching video...

My dog was with us for 18 years (1983 to 9 Dec 2001) - that's 126 or 72 human yrs old depending on what reference you use. Problems associated with old age : arthritis, cataract, hernia ops we've gone thru, and that final decision to take... we visit him at www.in-memory-of-pets.com...

Dogs definitely need slightly different care as they age, they age faster than humans so its good to be aware & be prepared. do read up books on taking care of dogs/older dogs available in library or borders...

My dog Penny was also with us for 18 years. very very sad the day we said goodbye to her.

the saddest dog movie i've seen must be "hachiko monogatari"

    I looove my doggie too!

Thanks for the link Raptor. Personally I don't like to see sad videos or sad pictures of pets/animals. I extrapolate emotions to my dog and get real upset So you spoilt my day.

I prefer to read happy/watch/hear happy pet stories. Dread the day my dog has to leave us too, so I try to only think happy tots!

Gotta go now, got to hug my silly doggie...
