I know the usual places for cameras..
But what about video camcorders? Sorry newbie on camcorders here. Could someone kindly inform me where is a good place to buy at reasonably cheap prices? If it's at Sim Lim Square, I would apprciate the shop name. Thank you very much!!! |

ask around. There is a promotion for the Canon MV920 Mini DV Camcorder for around $650 with some free gifts like DV tapes, editing kit etc. |

if you want some hands on, most SLS or SLT retail shops aren't going to break open a new set to show you the functions. they can talk to you about the features and specs provided it isn't busy.
you could go to canon or sony showrooms to try handling them before going to the shops. not sure if panasonic or jvc demos sets at their showroom. as consumers, searching the internet for information and features of the products you want to get will save you a lot of problems and heartache as you will know if the sales person is bluffing just to make a sale. first, decide which is more important to you, brand, price, feature. if you are brand specific decide on the features, than price to get your money's worth or the other way round. if you are after features and price is not an issue, no need to say leow. if you are budget concious, decide on the features you really need and than the brand that offers you the best value for money. happy hunting! |

Hi David!!
Let me try to help you, but I will need abit more infomation.. - What kinda stuff do u plan to shoot? (weddings, events, random stuff, shortfilm, paidjobs) - Who is going to view your 'final product' (clients, family, friends, personal) - What will your 'final product be' (Laptop-projector, dvd, vcd, or just your pc) - What's your max-budget? (below 1k? 2k?) Cheers! David Liu |

Try the Samsung Cams. Reasonale price and what's more they built most of the Sony consumer cams and only cost about 50-70% of a Sony
