Thanks di0nysus and Youhong
I am impressed myself too. The lighting in expo was pretty much decent, with that half the battle of getting a a good shot is done.. The next was to get in a good position (which is pretty hard considering the amt of ppl crowding around... AND trying not dodge the flying 'mud' frm the pool... Settings of my camera as follows, 24f, HDV mode (16:9) Focus: Auto (Manual when I want a DOP shot) White balance: Auto (The presets are either too warm or bluish, and I didnt want to custom) shutter: 50 or 100 iris: 1.6-2.0 black: middle (from "stretched" "middle" and "crush") Colour gain: +2 Gama: Cine |

Hi Hobbes00,
Wow, which model u r using? Is it a professional model? you have all the manual control that consumer camera don't have. What software are you using for the screen capture? It is very sharp and clear. Need to learn from you.

Hi compro_1975, I agree... Need to own afew of these babies lol!!! wanna donate to my fund? Maybe one day we can have a get together and shoot random stuff... (like my shortfilms :P)
anakin0618, its the Canon XL-H1. I use adobe premiere pro - export > frame.. it exports as a .bmp file, then I'll go to photoshop and do the resizing and other stuff.. As for colour correction and post work, it can be either done by premiere or photoshop - both of them works almost the same way.. so if you know how to "CC" your photos, its just the same way u CC your video footages.. Colour-Correction, is part of the post production process in which you edit the colours/contrast n related attributes of your footages. Take for example 2 different films - Matrix 1, and Saving Private Ryan.. both of them have totally different CC proceses. Of cos, for us if the client doesnt expect a film/profesisonal look then we should just skip this part.. I know some clients prefer the "video-look" (Take a PD170 and shoot, and then export.. thats what I call video-look) But personally prefer the film-look.. :P sgvideoman, yo.. I posted on your thread on the camera u used.. you seem to be covering every single event in singapore! man! ur da man, look at the video-showcase forum, you're flooding it with all sorts of different event threads. I guess you have really top-notch networking/HR skills, must work with you sometime ![]() Have to book in later... Cheers! |

Thanks Hobbes00 for sharing your experience.
Current I am using Sony Vegas but this image output is not as good. I will try to use Abode Premier to do the image capture. Like to have a opportunity of an outing with you to learn more. cheers...

1st task, donate 15% of ur income to fund my crusades!!
haha! Ok afew pointers to add.. number one, the lighting at bigboystoys was AVERAGE... wasnt not decent enuff. number two. After viewing the screencaps from camp which seem to be much darker than usual (over contrasted).. I went home and realised my monitor MODE is on "OFFICE" I remembered there are other modes.. like "STD" "sRGB" "VIVID" Question, what mode is your computer monitor set to? |
