    Default Compact mega zoom dilema

hi, looking to get a compact mega zoom but there are so many in the market i'm confused now. Will be shooting mainly at the 300-400mm range so performance at that range is important as is image quality at iso400. I'm a newbie with such stuff so i have no idea where to start. All the manufacturers advertising seem to indicate they are the best (as they would). Looking closely at the panasonic Fz5, fz,10, fz30 or the canon s2/s3IS or the Fuji 6500 series. any ideas?

ok panasonic doesn't perform well at ISO400, but it got the OIS edge over fuji. same goes as canon(maybe slightly better noise performance)
