I guess in terms of brand recognition, would Samsung be more well received in certain markets? eg,Korea

In that sense it would be a marketing nightmare to try to introduce 2 products of identical specs in the same market(eg. the Samsung "Gxx" clones of the DS/DL/K10D). It's like the car market here, the Holden Vectras and the Astras are actually rebranded Opels.

My personal opinion would say that a full acquisition of Pentax by Samsung isn't gonna happen anytime soon...and as mentioned, I'm not sure if national pride will come into play

can you imagine Pensung? Or Samtax? hahaha.....

I just hope this will stay in a partnership phase, Pentax gets manufacturing support from Samsung electronics, while Samsung gets to market and sell DSLRs under their own brand name.

Of course no one will really know unless you're one of the suits sitting with the board of directors in the meeting room...anything can happen
