I think the second shot has a more appealing composition although some parts appear a little blown. Lens does look a little soft wide oepn though but could be because of the high ISO..

Actually, come to think of it, could it be a bit of that hand shake? More skills to be honed....

#2 seems good but the lighting is rather harsh and i think blown a lil of the details and handshake there. i would love to shoot cats!
