You have a tendaancy to overespose the highlights in your pics as mentioned by the other members. I'd usggest you use ISO 200 or 400 and stop down your lens a little more to improve the saturation and sharpness. I assume you are using the sigma 70-200 2.8?
Composition wise most are quite good. i like the otter one but that blog in the bottom left corner is too distracting. |

ur pics lacks the punch of colours which bring out the animals..lower down your exposure cos most are overexposesd..try to take pictures which does not show the man-made object..like fences or feeding stations etc..unless if you want it to be there for photographic reasons..keep shooting and in time you will learn and improve!

Thanks for all the feedback and comments. Here are the answers to some of the questions. All shots taken handheld. Lens use is Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS. Use F2.8 mainly to isolate subject from background and also to gain faster shutter speed.
To dennisthetiger: I suspect that my monitor need calibration as the colour looks ok on my CRT screen. Can you post any of your pict. that has the "punch of colors" to enable me to make a direct comparison on my screen? Yes, I will keep shooting and hopefully produce better pict. to share on this forum. Regards. |

Thought your pics all look pretty sharp.
Colours do seem a little desaturated, could be due to your colour style used. Saturation can easily be pumped up during post-processing though. I like the 3rd one with the squirrel best. ![]() Mm.. after looking through your photos again, I think the desaturated colours could likely be due to over-exposure. Try dialing down half a stop or pull down the curve during post-processing.

do note that for tele photo lens there's no need to use F2.8 to bring out the bokeh.. it'll do the job well even at F5.6-F8...
in bright sunny days your shutter speed should be adequate and your lens comes with IS too...
