    Anyone interested in software to convert from avi to mpeg? I wanted to play some movies on my dvd player which does not accept avi format and stumbled on this software.

    This is great software. I can even convert WMV to VCD. Recently converted all the clips at bmwfilms.com to a VCD.

    hiya =) thanks for the link..

    only one silly question(me new to this).. eh after i get the mpg file, how do i convert it to a vcd??

    Hi, what is this "VFAPI plug-in for TMPGEnc project file"? Can elaborate? Still free huh?

    you can also just copy the mpeg to a cdr if ur dvd player supports this.

    If this helps:
    I think you can directly burn .avi to VCD format in Nero.

    looks like nero can pretty much do anything. i have yet to use this software. how does it compare with adaptec's easy cd creator?

    Nero's MPEG compressor sucks. Quality is rather low. It's better to use something like TMPGEnc to do the conversion, then burn the MPGs.
