You need to boost the contrast of your shots. They look dull to me.

#2 has potential, however, if you could focus more on the the mist would be nice.

it depends one.
1st thx
i took it this morning
i did quite a few -1 exposures all turned out quite dark.
but u can try bring down exposure n see results.
play around wif the settings.

Depends on where you meter from (to get your settings). Try meter at the midtone and plus 1/3 or 2/3 if u meter slightly nearer to the brighter area on the sky.

Proper exposed sky/clouds would give you dark background and so on.

yes, some thing like that, see the many "layers" of mist? do pano crop, less foregound and the sky.
