for a bird park shot u can try to do better as time is on your side.

bend down such that u r eye level with the bird.
try to catch the bird when it's not moving too much and squeeze off the shutter, that will reduce motion blur.

Since u have not much choice of iso/aperture u just have to hold the
camera as steady as you can.
