Just sold my S30 to my brother, between G3 and S602z, which one I shall get? Both price is diff about 200~300, that's is ok with me...

which one is better for shot like insects, plant, or even scenery?

Is the zoom and movie mode impt to you? If yes, get the 602z.

Nikon Coolpix series are well known for their macro capabilities. You may want to consider/inculde them in your options.

For macro it's the zoom that's important. Having a big zoom allows you to shoot insects from a further distance yet maintaining the magnification (you need to use close-up lenses though). That said, 602Z has a super macro mode that allows you to focus at 1cm (the distortion is pretty bad though and at this distance, the camera usually blocks lots of the light).

The choice is clear, S602 is the camera for you.

But seriously;

Macro, Landscape, fast AF and minimum shutter lag for it's class/cost, and good battery life are all very attractive features, and not forgetting the 6x optical zoom factor.
