I've just tried using the Sony GPS-CS1 for my vacation recently. The Sony GPS-CS1 is about the size of a D cell battery.
The problem of trying to remember where you've taken the photos has been solved with this nifty GPS gadget from Sony. Firstly, follow the time on the GPS receiver to your camera onboard time as you'll need the same time stamp for the GPS tagging to work successfully. ![]() Photos of the Sony GPS-CS1. ![]() ![]() Top view. ![]() ![]() Last edited by xtemujin; 20th November 2006 at 06:54 AM. |

Software information.
http://scilib.typepad.com/science_library_pad/2006/09/my_review_of_th.html Using Google Picasa photo viewer and Google Earth, you're now able to see the location of where you've taken the photo after GPS tagging it. Go to Tools -> Geotag -> Geotag with Google Earth. Map view. ![]() Satellite view. ![]() I've successfully tagged the GPS coordinates to my photos and I'm using a Nikon D50 and a Sony P8 camera. Currently, the Sony GPS-CS1 is not for sale here in Singapore according to Sony Singapore. I was fortunate enough to buy it from Clubsnap buy and sell before my Melbourne trip. HTH. Runes,
The reference point for the photos to be GPS tagged by the Sony GPS-CS1 is by time stamp and it does not matter the brand of camera that you are using. HTH. |

this system is definitely not new and not sure how much sony is selling it but the earlier version for nikon has been out quite sometime
http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=211684 or a more generic one http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=171137 There's one other device that does exactly the same as the Sony one but I can't find that product now.. Sony just merely took the concept and packaged it under Sony. ![]()
