Default CNY 2003 Fireworks

Decided to go down last minute at 1130, managed to set up just a minute before the fireworks went off, crowd was thin and weather was good. Lasted about 10+ mins.

Rest of the pics can be view at following

Nice captures, 1 and are rather generic...(I mean the type of fireworks.)

No. 3 seems to have some camers shake???

No. 4 is really nice... like umberalla or flowers in the air.

That my 2-cents worth....

And yes I too rushed down there last minute...also managed to set up juz a few mins b4 the fireworks went off...managed to take abt 20 shots...the fireworks lasted longer than expected heheh. And thank goodness the rain stopped just in time for the fireworks to take place.

Pics will be up soon...

Thanks Garion. Yeah, left my home around 11:30pm, was just in time there. Fire works was longer than Friday night's. Was at benjamin sheares, but coz of the heavy traffic around 8pm, the bridge was vibrating quite a bit, most of my shots came out blurred.

The 3rd pic prob had a bit of shake coz i wasn't using my remote. Was frantically snapping with my digital cam and winding & snapping with my manual 35mm cam using slides. Probably hit the digital shutter too hard

Wow u mean u had 2 cams to take at once...thats kinda tough dude...to alternate between 2 cams in such a short span of time and snap frantically away...now I understand why some of your shots came out blurred...heheh...anyways good try! I too was snapping away like crazy...one big negative point about digicams is the long lag time when writing to the CF card...missed some nice big ones when this happened....

sounds dumb but can use towel or newspapers to dampen when there's no grass... IF you're really hardcore..

anyway love the one with the glowing starfishies...

good efforts. I know how difficult it is to take good fireworks photo having tried a few times myself. You never know what will be coming up and you just have to burn away. I suppose nowadays with digital cameras, it is somewhat less heartache.

Personally, I prefer to include a bit of the foreground to establish the locality or occasion when I shoot fireworks. I feel fireworks picture by themselves only work if they are very graphic in nature like your pic 4. almost abstract.

of course these are just my own opinion, coming from someone who hasn't seen too much success with my own shots. ha ha
