Hi,
Currently am evaluating both the 6500 and F30, as I will be upgrading soon from my old old Fujifilm F610. Yes I know it is kinda strange that I am comparing these 2 totally different camera, but I am a fan of FujiFilm. And I really don't mind getting a bulkier S6500fd since I already have a F610. From the reviews at DCResource, it seems like the F30 ISO800 pictures is much better than the s6500fd. Aren't these 2 camera using the same sensor? I am torn as to which is a better camera for me, since both prices are pretty similar. Comments will be great! Cheers... |

unsure about the sensors, but I doubt they are the same one.
anyway, I think your decision should be based on whether you prefer the extra telephoto, as available on the S6500, or would you be ok with 3x and have something much smaller. Between these 2 cameras, I personally feel that is the biggest decision point. |

looks the same to me..hmm, but different lens. i think if you prefer portability, F30 is the way to go (e.g bring for group outings and clubbing..etc) if you want better zoom, more manual controls, AA-batt friendly cam, get S6500fd. currently using the S6500fd, learnt to love it..haha! but sometimes i agree it's too bulky and makes me think twice about bringing it out as compared to a compact pns.. |

Yes, understand the biggest decision is whether I need the zoom as compared to the sensor. Somehow when I read reviews from DCResource, it seems the F30 sensor is more superior than the S6500.
Maybe the lens on the F30 matches the sensor better. Thanks for the comments anyway |

But if you look at the specs on teh F30 and F20, it is the same sensor, but the ISO for the F20 is capped at 1600. And also the F20 pictures is not as good as the F30. Maybe it is due to the image processing that cause the F30 and S6500fd to be different. |
