Default lens calibration?

Hi all, I've got a Sigma 17-70 2.8-4.5 (canon mount) which i think backfocuses.

Anyone has any idea:
1. where I can calibrate the lens (i.e. where's the service centre) and
2. how long it might take to calibrate it?

Many thanks!!

Apologies if my questions sound dumb, quite new to slr photography.

check your warranty card for the address to sigma service centre. it is at bukit merah. the calibration will take about 30 minutes but you have to make an appointment first.

if it's within 3 days (like my case) ask for new replacement

Sometimes it may not be the lens but the body that needs calibration. I recently sent in all my Canon lenses and bodies for a checkup and they ended up calibrating the bodies since they said all the lenses are fine. However, with a sigma lens, i'm not sure if you can still get the body calibrated properly at Canon if it ends up not being the lens. Ie. Will they take in ur Sigma lens and calibrate ur Canon body to the lens.

maybe you can use another body to test the lens first before sending it to the service centre

In principle, they should be calibrating the lens TO the body. This is just my speculation 'cos I don't have any Sigma lens at the moment.
