I bought this a week ago. Was debating between the Xi and Canon V3. Went for the Xi because of 3x optical and size. Figured that I will more likely carry a slim camera in my pocket. And I actually do bring it with me wherever I go now. It is that convenient.

Picture quality is acceptable to me. Not quite up to my D100 level but delivers what I expect for the price, size, resolution and convenience. Brightness is fine except in dark situations because the flash is not quite strong enough (same problem with all cameras this size) - perhaps a slave flash would help but have not tried.

Be careful with lens problem though. I exchaned my first unit because the lens obviously had a fault at the edges. The replacement was much better although I still notice slight chromatic abberation (is that how to spell it?) at widest angle at the edges.

In summary, I am happy and does what I expect it to.

Hi there,

I just purchased this camera as well, mainly for the size and convinence. Like gbuzzer I carry it with me where possible (cuz now my mum is in love with it...have to fight with her for it lol).

Image-wise...its what you would expect of a digital consumer point and shoot camera, adequate for my purposes (casual snapshots). Be prepared to pay a premium for the size and convinence, but to me that's worth every cent. The camera is small enough to fit into my shirt pocket. Coupled with an extremely fast start up time....you are unlikely to ever miss a photo opportunity if you have it by your side.

Happy shooting!
