Could get some 3rd party people to do this ... but do not know how much they will charge ... I think they need a minimum Qty ... abt 100 also .... hmmm ...

Do you think we should have a NON-Committual namelist of the people that would pay abt S$100 for the device ... if we manage to get it done.

Judging from the design, it should be workable on all Minolta cameras. But worried abt the Terms ... not for Commercial Use ... so ... do not know if that would be a breech ...

Well, mebbe if can find someone who knows anything abt it (sorry, i'm not engineering background one)... maybe?

I'd checked out w/ my friend, and he said problem is something abt the availability of some IC or parts... (no problems, since we can order ?).. but dunno how it works.. mabbe will chk w/ the one who came up w/ this.. and see if he succeeded or not.. etc

I think it would not be hard to get the components in Sim Lim Towers ... but I think to fabricate the board, get the remote casing etc ... would be a lot of work.

Hey, why don't we ask him for a price and MO for all the Minolta users.

I have not gone through all the documents yet but ... notice that there is nothing on the reciever ... Still trying to find out if this is Radio Frequency or Infra ... though they say it is RF ....

Do you want to right to this guy ?If not I may consider ... it is a bout US$50 on the parts alone. so I think if we can get a MO with large qty ... may get the price down.

Sinta in SLT sell Velleman RF remote in kit form, complete with casing.
just need to know how to wire it to the Cam and power source.

I think must see what sort of configuration they are using and whether it is competible to the Minolta ... input voltages etc .. trigger pulse, etc.

I think it be eazier to get one that is already proven and tested ... yep ... I think I will wait and see ...

fwah, this sounds interesting ... Maybe I'll try it after finishing my FYP ...looks pretty easy to design the PCB ... but yah may be a little difficult to get the specific components the guy used.

a. receiver should be at the camera, the transmitter only sends the necessary signal for the camera to act upon.
b. think it should be should be RF, since it says antenna in the circuit drawing.
c. components should be much cheaper.

Fabricating the board would be tough .. it is also making use of SMT ... as no through hole is on the board.

Would hope that the guy quickly tries out his design ... and proves that it works fine ...

unless it is done out of pure interest ...
