your white tiger looks a bit over exposed in my monitor...
could be - due to scanning - too much contrast if not due to scanning or processing , you should use partial spot metering to meter the white tiger skin .. |

is it? *looks @ shots*
hmm.. looks okie to me.. yeah I shot these with the generalised evaluative metering ... was just adjusting the lens on the tripod when it yawned.... so I just burst the shutter button. thanks for the tip Megaweb, will do a proper setup if there's another visit to the zoo by CS & Canon

Some questions for you.Was the sky overcast when you shot the tiger? What film were you using and what speed? Do you have the readings of the shots, ie, the aperture, shutter and focal length? I did some tiger shots on a weekday on the same week that CS had the zoo outings. But my tiger shots were kinda underexposed! ![]() |

Nope the sky's bright and sunny (on our side) while the tiger's on the shady part ehh.... the very top of my initial post, I have listed my settings also... Fujifilm XTRA400, f5.6, 1/250s Evaluative metering EF 600mm L prime lens Hmm... did you use any exposure compensation?

Me didnt use any exposure compensation as I was too focused on subject framing. The tiger was moving aroud and it was hard to focus on the head! Anyway, I was on evaluative metering on the EOS30 and using a Sigma 50-500. Film used was Provia 400F. But my shots were bad! ![]() |

a few possibilities : 1. u metered something brighter than the tiger e.g. the sun reflection in the water when the tiger is in the water 2. u use manual settings and under setting ur shots 3. set wrong ISO for film used |
