Default IS/VR lens for Minolta

Few weeks ago, someone posted a msg in yahoo group. He said that he read from a magazine that Sigma will released a IS/VR lens for Minolta on Oct 2003. I dunno how reliable the source is but I will keep u guys update.

Probably the 80-400 EX OS which will also be released in Canon EF and Nikon mounts.

Minolta should come up with her "DS"(distance encoder and shock minimiser) first. Priority is still to release her DSLR cos i read tat Canon will replace D60 with D40/D80 ,both below $2K.Very tempting. I still prefer original.

S$2K or US$2K .... if it is USD ... it is still a little too high ... anyway ... have to wait for a few more years ...

I don't think the price for D40/D80 is below $2k......the price quoted in Nikondigital.org is in US dollars...
That means still around S$3k region.

there are already a few Distance encorder lenses and flashes. look out for the 'D'. I do agree they need to come up with another DSLR asap. Their RD175 and RD3000 are too old liao...........

Minolta is comming out with the SSM(D) lens soon.Will have a SLR type Digital cam with (IS) also.

What do you people think of Sigma lens on Minolta Cams, like the 28~300mm APO IF .... good range and size but no other lens seem to have such a nice range/
