And that's the good way to do it.

    Haha not that worry though.

Its the Z generation now and I'm not too bothered abt such things actually. If it happens, it will. Anyway, no plans to get married or have baby. Just happily be a couple for as long as we can.

WOW... it is dangerous to buy an equivalent of f-stop to carat of diamond... Cos the biggest fstop lens manufactured so far is only f/0.95 and that would really cost if you gets a 0.95 carat of diamond.

Not to mention those looking forward to buy f/2.8 lenses.

Hmmm! That's a very interesting idea you've mentioned here. I think you should start a new thread entitled, "How to Reduce Taxation via Photography." I'm certain many of us will be interested to learn.

I too belongs to the fortunate group.
I order from shop and wife collects and pays for it.

I get that too, but the answer is more cynical than anything else. When you unwrap it, you get the usual "what? buy some more? you already have a few!".

If she don't nag after that she'll make sure she reminds you some other days that's not categorised as nagging. A good idea is to buy her something of equivalent value. But, our "real value" is always less than the actual one charged to the credit card, so the wife always gets something a little cheaper. Handbag, new coat, etc. But never diamonds (at least not for me since I dont have a 600mm f4 yet!).

But I think its good to say sometimes: photo is cheap.... compared to racing cars!

Unfortunately my wife can tell the difference between 1 carat and 0.2 carat.

    Anyways, its wife management.

    she dun understand why i buy the 70-200 2.8 when i already have a 70-300 4 - 5.6

then she say, got one more hundred leh. number bigger better right? ya. not for aperture wor. LOL.

then she will ask. number smaller why still more expensive?!

what is best to calm them down is to show them the pictures that you have taken. most are fascinated by the bokeh. so..

I brought my wife along when I bought D70 two years ago .. so that she could do the bargaining... I ended buying D70 cheaper ...
Leave the bargaining to the expert !

PS : of course I didn't tell her when I bought the next four lenses .....
