Default Differences in Dry Boxes

Hi there,

I just bought a DSLR and I was thinking of putting it into a dry box. Can anyone tell me the difference in brands of dry boxes, and what would be of best value? Is there a particular good brand?

I only have my D80 and would prob need a small one (two compartments maybe)... thought I'd ask. I haven't really shopped around to be honest.

Is there a huge degration in my camera/ lens if I didnt have a dry box cabinet?

Thanks

hi there...
you shouls have a look here...
Recommendation for dry box or cabinet
There'll you'll find the different brands available.. But that's for dry cabinets...

If you don't use any drying equipment - mould and fungus will grow. just like any other equipment/leather goods etc. And this is damaging esp for cameras coz it could end up on your sensors and lenses...

You don't necessarily have to spend hundreds on a dry cabinet. If you want to start small, you can get a dry box with silica gel. Works well, but it's troublesome and long term usage of silica gel will cost you. Most of us would then get a dry cabinet. Electricity consumption is low, and you don't have to keep checking the box, which you have to do with silica gel. It's also bigger.
If you're going to buy a dry cabinet, don't liimit yourself to a small one. You have to think far, like what your future set up will be like. Dry cabinets last very long, so you don't want to waste money having to upgrade the box to store your new toys.. Just plan ahead and you should be fine..

Well said there.

I bought DigiCab 30L about a year ago and has been very good so far but as my arsenal grows, now they are screaming for space.

IMHO though.
