soak in washing powder, detergent etc overnight, then next day take the scrub and scrub very hard everywhere..especially the thick paddings..

    after that dry in sun...

if still cannot, soak overnight again and repeat..

no...dont worry, if ur bag is good....my lowepro and crumpler ones i scrub a lot times still pretty ok..

ok la..may the padding not so violent, but the bag exterior etc is made of nylon, pretty strong one

    Use tea bags...

tea bags can absorb odours well... I leave a few in my dry box as well....

Use activated carbon to remove smell. This is the stuff that is used in the military gas masks to remove poisonous gases.
It is used in aquariums for water filtration, so you can get a pack from an aquarium shop and put inside your bag, zip it up and unzip to check a few days later.
