    dont be silly la, is it worth it to damage such an expensive sensor ($400 bucks for a 300D one, so probably more for higher end models) just to save a bit in cleaning fees?

    +evenstar is right, jus try it if you want to, but the probability of damaging your sensor is high.

    Silly?

    Yes. Am not be silly to use sensor swab or whatever available on the market especially those that goes into direct contact with the CCD because I know the vacuum cleaner works perfectly and it is 100% every time to remove any dust.

    After all, to each his preference.

    2 words. bad idea.

    I tried vacumming my old laptop once. ruined the shite out of it. I would imagine a camera has more delicate components, so I would'nt risk it.
